Desmond T. Doss – 2ND Annual Memorial Golf Tournament [DDMGT] Location ~ PGA WEST ~ Monday October 11, 2021
The DDMGT/Charity Event is held yearly at a 5-Star Destination Location inviting Sponsors to participate individually or host Veterans & 1st Responders of the local community to come together to celebrate the heroism and values of Medal of Honor recipient Desmond T. Doss. Our goal is to make this event one of the most respected and prestigious Military ~ 1st Responder tournaments in America. Every participant will leave with a deeper understanding of Desmond’s values of patriotism, morals and unconditional love for all.
Desmond’s post-war passion was to inspire youth to become the next generation of solid citizens, while bringing hope to his fellow Veterans. The Doss Foundation has taken Desmond’s lead, and in partnership with the Medal of Honor Society is fostering programs designed for youth leaders and educators across the country to mentor young people with constructive direction in their lives, thereby instilling in them the following character values:
Patriotism ~ Courage ~ Integrity ~ Conviction ~ Humility ~ Faith ~ Selflessness
Apart from youth character development we at the Desmond Doss Foundation are committed to addressing the issue of hearing loss. Accordingly, we are building a strong relationship with Loma Linda University Health’s Cochlear Implant Services in honor of the care Desmond Doss received in 1988 from Dr. Timothy Jung. At the time, a Cochlear Implant was innovative technology and Dr. Jung was able to restore Desmond’s hearing after forty-three years of hearing loss. In support of LLUH’s Cochlear Implant Services a fund has been established by the University in Desmond’s name in collaboration with the Doss Foundation which will be donating proceeds from their golf tournaments to support LLUH’s outreach of Cochlear needs to Veterans, First Responders, and others suffering from hearing impairment or loss.
This tournament is an annual destination event hosted at premium golf courses around the USA much like the US Open. Participants will have the rewarding experience of being a part of this “above & beyond” and “inside the ropes” experience that will bring greater understanding of the Doss Foundation and its Mission & Initiatives. www.desmonddossfoundation.net
